Strong leaders don’t hide from young voters, Matt Gurney Apr 5, 2011, National Post

"Strong leaders don’t hide from young voters . . .

It’s absurd to suggest that the same man who needs protection from reporters and politically curious young women is fit to handle further economic crises, wars in Libya and Afghanistan and the ever-present risk of natural disaster, major accident or terrorist attack on Canadian soil. "

Matt Gurney, when you're right (morally that is) you're right.

It is hard to believe that an RCMP "ripped off their name tags, tore them up and ordered them out" (Ifpress, 5 Apr.'11)

I wouldn't be surprised if the people were discussing that matter with their lawyers right now.

Also,

It is an embarrassment to have a Prime Minister who whenever something goes wrong, he blames someone else and denies he was aware of it.

Not only this but we also have the Bruce Carson affair.

When it gets right down to it.

Does anyone really believe Harper when he says he didn't know about Carson's background, especially when he was given 'secret security clearance' - in the Harper Regime people don't breath without Harper permitting it.

The immortal words of Gilles Duceppe are still ringing in my ears:

"[Harper] lied this morning"

A true leader stands tall takes the blame and makes steps to rectify the situation.

Harper may want to wave this off as insignificant. But Matt Gurney is right, it is indicative of rot inside the tree.

This applies as well to everything Harper does.

e.g., the Afghan Detainee Transfer Scandal

if Harper had leadership quality he would ensure that any report would be released in time for the upcoming debates.

Unless you feel it is simply just too complicated to discuss during an election, Mr. Harper

For that matter a true leader would accept the offer by Ignatieff for a one-on-one debate after throwing down the gauntlet - yah, 'right' when Harper freezes over.

Harper simply doesn't care, when it gets right down to it.
He has 33% core supporters that will vote Con pretty much no matter what.

As long as the Moderate Majority don't go out in vote and don't consolidate

Harper is going to finish ahead of the other parties and, who knows, perhaps even a majority - God save Canada.
